Each week we are speaking to our 2019 Champions and ask them some all important questions to see what makes them tick.
This week is 2019 Junior Rotax Challenge Cup Winner – Tiernan Rourke
How did you get started in the sport?
I got into karting after watching the F1 and hire karting for my Birthday, I then went to Clay Pigeon for a taster session in a ‘proper kart’ and I’ve been racing with Team Clay ever since.
What was the highlight of your Challenge Cup title winning year?
The highlight of my season was finishing 3rd at the last round which gave me a lot of confidence going into this year.
What was your low point last season?
My lowest point was not making the final at PFi which knocked my confidence, but I built it backup for the following round.
What’s your favourite circuit?
Clay Pigeon, GYG & Warden Law
Who has been your toughest rival?
My toughest rival is hard to say, we had such an up and down season racing a variety of competitors’ but I think I’d have to say Jack Meakin
When we do get underway, what are your hopes for the new season?
My aim for this year is a top 3 finish in the Championship.
Due to the delayed start to the season what are you planning on doing with this unexpected time off from racing?
I am currently working out and keeping fit ready for the start of the season along with some meditation to keep a level head.
We wish Tiernan and everyone in the BKC well. Stay safe and look after each other. We will be back in action before you know it #StayOnTrack
