After a successful first British Kart Championships round for the Rotax classes, all eyes will now be on the IAME series as they head to PFI for their first fight of 2019.
As well as the dawn of a new season for the IAME classes, the Motorsport UK Academy team will be present at the Lincolnshire venue to promote their exciting AASE educational programme.
As a potentially elite competitor, have you considered the Motorsport UK Academy AASE programme? It’s a two-year course delivered by the Motorsport UK Academy in conjunction with Loughborough College.
Now in its ninth year, AASE is vital to any young driver who is serious about achieving success in motorsport. It develops young athletes, providing the underpinning knowledge of what it takes to achieve success in the sport, while providing an accredited college qualification.
“The coaches Motorsport UK have chosen are the best. Adding preparation, time management, career planning, nutrition and many more strings to your bow is a real bonus. AASE helped me so much in my first season in the BTCC and has become increasingly relevant to my career. It costs nothing but your time and commitment, so why wouldn’t you sign up?”
Tom Ingram, BTCC driver and AASE graduate.
The full programme framework will run for two years beginning in September 2019 and will be based around a pair of four-day sessions each month at Loughborough College. Additionally, athletes will be required to attend focused development sessions.
In England, legislation now dictates that if you were born on or after 1 September 1998 you must stay in some form of education or training until your 18th birthday. AASE satisfies this requirement as it is classed as a full-time educational programme, which not only trains and educates athletes but also offers the flexibility for them to pursue their sport.
As a Motorsport UK Academy AASE athlete you would not attend Loughborough College on a daily basis but the time you spend away from college participating in motorsport and/or completing motorsport related work experience would count as contribution to your learning programme. Please note you are unable to combine the AASE programme with any other education programme.
Much of the Motorsport UK Academy AASE programme content aligns with other elements of the Motorsport UK Academy talent development pathway, such as the Team UK national squad, using the same principles of qualified coaching. AASE alumni include the likes of Jake Dennis, Seb Morris, Tom Ingram, Chris Ingram, Josh Webster, Matt Parry, Charlie Robertson and Sennan Fielding.
To be considered for a place on the programme, please click here to find further programme information along with an online application form. Spaces are strictly limited and all applications will be reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you have any questions please email academy@motorsportuk.org or alternatively a member of the Motorsport UK Academy team will be at PFI on Saturday 13 April 2019 to answer any questions which you may have.
