Following the announcement of the IAME calendar, Motorsport UK has today announced its second set of 2020 British Kart Championship dates. The TKM category gets underway at Kimbolton in September, with two further rounds in October at Fulbeck and the season finale at PF International.
Motorsport UK British TKM Kart Championship
Round 1: Kimbolton – September 11-13
Round 2: Fulbeck – October 9-11
Round 3: PFI – October 24-25
The compact championship will be held over three weekends with nine sets of scores up for grabs in total – seven of which will count towards the overall championship.
Karting Manager at Motorsport UK, Dan Parker explains. “The new TKM calendar reflects the views expressed by competitors following a survey by the British Kart Championships during lockdown. The TKM championship will run from September to late October, facilitating pre-event testing if possible and responding to the wish not to race too late into the winter months whist still having a suitable number of rounds to make a credible contest.
“We also are delighted to announce that where Friday practice is permitted, all TKM drivers will be eligible for a complimentary voucher for testing. The TKM season will also continue with the popular controlled regulations for tyres during the race meetings. The number of tyres will also be limited for testing. We would like to thank TKM for their continued support and help in ensuring that we are able to push forward with a TKM British Championship in 2020.”
Championship registrations are now open but are strictly limited to just one grid for both the Junior and Senior TKM Classes. Drivers who have already registered for the 2020 Championship will not need to do so again.
