The PF International circuit hosts the final round of the 2021 Wera Tools British Kart Championships as the IAME, Rotax, TKM, Honda Cadet and Bambino classes reach a thrilling climax this October

Mini X30 championship leader Leo Robinson holds a 17 point lead heading into PFi  and we have a quick chat with the Fusion Motorsport driver.

BKC: What has been your highlight of 2021?

LR: In addition to winning Kartmasters, I really enjoyed racing in the OKJ class in the FIA Academy for Algeria this year. I really enjoy the speed of that kart, and racing on longer European tracks.

BKC: What have you struggled with in 2021 or was perhaps a low point?

LR: It was occasionally a struggle to get back into the Mini X30 which has less than half the power of OKJ. It is often harder to get the best out of lower powered classes, as you are punished more heavily for any inaccuracy.

BKC: Coming into 2021 – did you think you would be fighting for the title?

LR: Having finished 2nd last year I had always expected to be competing near the front. I was, however, well aware that the competition would be very strong this year and that I would have to continue to improve.

BKC: What is your approach for the final rounds?

LR: I will just be focusing on my own driving and doing the best that I can.

BKC: What are your plans for 2022?

LR: I will again race in the Academy and hope to also compete in the Junior class in some European races.  I would love to drive gearbox karts to get used to front brakes and gears but unfortunately the Junior Gearbox class is not yet established. I will however look to test in gearbox karts should that be possible.
