As a British Championship class since 2013, IAME Cadet requires no introduction. On graduating from this category, many young drivers opt for X30 Mini, using full-sized 125cc water cooled IAME TAG (touch and go) motors, albeit in heavily restricted form.
By simply altering the restrictor size, competitors can switch to X30 Junior, a class that has been extremely popular since its inception in 2015. Remove the restrictor altogether and you are ready for a step up into Senior X30 ranks.
All X30 classes run on Komet tyres, with Dunlops for cadets. The motors remain unsealed, allowing for easy access and maintenance. A growing number of X30 competitors run from team awnings but these classes also remain quite popular with privateers. Some of Europe’s top kart stars have emerged from these classes, including Callum Bradshaw, Dexter Patterson, Jonny Edgar, Harry Thompson and Kai Askey.
Competitors will race head-to-head against each other at a variety of well-known circuits across the UK.
Championships feature a number of different classes based on driver age and kart specification. Each class has its own races within the meeting.
