The Wera Tools British Open Kart Championships (O plate) will mark the start of the season this March [17-19], as the much-anticipated event sees Rotax and Honda GX 160 categories fight for the honour of running the prestigious ‘O Plate’.

Taking place at Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire, the bumper weekend will also see the battle for the `E plate` as the newly approved Honda Cadet 200 class joins the fray, in the quest to be the English champion of 2023.

Having previously run on separate weekends, the Rotax and Honda categories will come together at the 1200-metre circuit which offers a fast and flowing challenge for the protagonists and is the perfect host for what is set to be an action-packed weekend of racing in the new-for-2023 categories.

Classes for the Rotax drivers include the new Micro Max Cadet and Mini Max 950 Inter categories, who join the regulars in Junior and Senior Max. For Honda racers, the Honda Cadet 160 competitors will vie for the `O Plate` honours whilst the Honda Cadet 200 battle for the `E Plate`.

With support from the UK Rotax distributors JAG Rotax, contenders will have all the benefits of the British Kart Championships including on-track CCTV, control tyres, timing by Motorsport Timing UK and the event will be streamed online by Championship media providers Alpha Live.

With a limited number of entries available, demand is expected to be high, and grids are subject to availability and minimum/maximum numbers in each class.

Competitors are urged to enter early. No championship registration is required and entry to the weekend is £215 with additional optional practice available on Friday the 17th March. The minimum licence grade required is `Kart Interclub` and the event can be used to gain a qualifying signature for the British Kart Championships in 2023.
