Contenders from the Wera Tools British Kart Championships put on a sensational display at the IWF23 in Portimao in Portugal, bringing the X30 Mini, X30 Junior and X30 Senior crowns back to the UK in an almost dominant display at the high-regarded IAME Motorsport event.
X30 Mini
Will Green secured the ultra-competitive X30 Mini finals victory with an excellent display, after fighting his way to the front from 8th on the grid. After wining the second Super Heat, Green would have it all to do thanks to his grid spot but the front-runners tangled, allowing Green to capitolise and take the chequered flag out front.
Many other BKC drivers featured during the weekend, including Archie Lovatt, Max Endacott and Jarlath Sayer.
X30 Junior
2023 FIA Academy driver Harry Bartle was involved in a titanic tussle for the X30 Junior honours in a Final which saw around a dozen drivers battle for the lead. BKC contenders Harry Bartle and Harrison Mackie dueled as did fastest lap taker Freddie Lloyd and Cathal Clark. In the end, it was Bartle who appeared the most confident, handling the battles with his rivals perfectly and after 17 crazy laps, he took the chequered flag as a very worthy winner.
X30 Senior
It was an initial lead for Gus Lawrence in the Final before a sensational start from Khali Atkins from fourth on the grid saw him take the reigns after lap four. From then on in, he held his own to take the X30 Senior victory in fine style. Lawrence eventually grabbed fourth whilst Fionn MacLaughlin took fifth, fighting his way up the field from a start position of 22.
Is was also success for BKC team Mad Croc Promotions who took home both the Junior and the Senior titles.
